At the 30th annual Easter Bonnet Competition, the company of Hamilton took top honors for transforming their opening number into an homage to Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. Hamilton also took the top fundraising honor, collecting $568,028 for BCEFA this spring.

Lin-Manuel appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday November 6, 2015. Jimmy invited him to play "Wheel of Freestyle" where he faced off against Tariq from The Roots. Each man was given three random words they'd never seen before and have to work them into a freestyle rap. Check out who won!

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt wrote "Bigger" - the opening number to the 67th Annual Tony Awards, telecast live on CBS on June 9, 2013. The performance, starring Neil Patrick Harris and over a hundred Broadway performers, received rave reviews from critics and viewers and was cited on many end of year lists as one of TV's top moments in 2013. "Bigger" went on to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics at the 66th Annual Emmy Awards on August 25, 2014. Read the lyrics from the song over at

tick, tick... BOOM!

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom, Jr., and Karen Olivo starred in the Encores! Off-Center production of tick, tick... BOOM!  from June 25-28 2014. Before Rent, there was tick, tick… BOOM! - the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, who posthumously won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Rent. Here he tells the story of an aspiring composer questioning his life choices on the eve of his 30th birthday. First performed as a solo rock monologue by Larson in 1990, it was later revamped by playwright David Auburn as a three-actor piece and premiered off-Broadway on June 13, 2001 at the Jane Street Theatre. Merrily We Roll Along

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Colin Donnell, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Elizabeth Stanley headlined the cast of the City Center Encores! production of Merrily We Roll Along that ran from February 8-19 2012.  Merrily is Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s legendary musical, which runs backwards in time from 1976 to 1955, and examines the lives of three artists whose friendships are tested by time, events, ambition and fate.  The cast album for this production was released in 2012. The NYC premiere of this newly-revised version of Working, directed by Gordon Greenberg. was presented by Propsect Theater Company at 59E59 Theaters. The show ran from December 1-30 2012. Based on Studs Terkel's famous 1974 book of interviews, this critically-acclaimed musical features well-loved songs by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, Stephen Schwartz, and James Taylor as well as two brand-new songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda - "Delivery" and "A Very Good Day." Licensing for the 2012 version of Working can be requested through Musical Theater International. 


Lin-Manuel voiced the role of Jak in the 2012 animated short film The Polar Bears directed by Jonn Stevenson and produced by Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and Michael Costigan. Watch as one family of polar bears takes a journey across the arctic tundra that they call home. You'll see the Coca-Cola Polar Bears as you've never seen them before!


Lin-Manuel can be heard on the audiobooks of two great works.
